Welcome to our latest blog post where we dive into a conversation with Novig's newly appointed Executive Vice President of Trading Technology and Operations, Henry Kerins.

Congratulations on your promotion, Henry! Could you tell us about your journey within Novig before becoming EVP of Trading? What will your new role entail?
Appreciate it! I’ve been leading the development of our proprietary trading technology and managing day-to-day operations, so this role is really just a formalization of what I’ve already been doing. As we scale, we’re adding six new leagues, including ATP, PGA, and UFC, along with 50+ new markets, further expanding both the depth and precision of our trading. It’s an exciting evolution, but more than anything, it’s just the next logical step for us.
Tell us a little bit about your work history before Novig.
I spent six years at Bloomberg building Price Discovery tools for Fixed Income, Credit, and Rates derivatives, which was a great crash course in market structure and pricing mechanics. But I’d always had my eye on sports trading—it just felt like an industry that hadn’t caught up to where it should be. When I heard what Jacob and Kelechi were building at Novig, I pitched them on developing in-house trading operations, and the rest is history.
In your opinion, what is Novig’s competitive advantage in the space?
There are plenty. Availability in 42 states, a seamless and intuitive UX, and true zero-commission trading are all major advantages. But beyond that, we’re taking a fundamentally different approach to sports trading—one that’s more efficient, more sophisticated, and actually works in users’ favor. The potential here is enormous.
What makes you most excited about Novig’s future?
The team—an incredibly driven group that’s constantly pushing the envelope. Close second is the users—seeing them thrive in a system that doesn’t ban them for being profitable and actually rewards sharp trading. Their feedback has been invaluable in shaping the platform, and it’s exciting to build something that finally works in their favor.
